Concept A digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera which is visually recognizable as being digital and not analog, while also visualizing its purpose clearer than todays cameras.
Today all digital single lens reflex cameras look like their analog predecessors with a very box-like exterior. That shape was once dictated by the need for space to roll up the 35mm film in old cameras, but with the introduction of the digital camera technology that need is not existing anymore.
With the digital technology the camera can be shaped with much more freedom.
In this concept the camera is a circle instead of a box. The round shape of the body follows the shape of the lens and has the same center, which is where the photo is taken. Viewing the camera from the side the shape creates a stronger visualization of the process of "taking a picture". The lens starts of wide, drawing in the motive, and then contracts to the point where it meets the camera body, which is also where the motive stops being reality and is turned into a still image, an interpretation of reality.
The entire back of the camera is covered in black transparent plastic covering a touch display, which only shows when needed. In normal use only the most important buttons is visible, being on the handle. The most important button, the shutter release button, is highlighted via a green circle around it.
Modelled in Rhinoceros and rendered in Flamingo.

The circular shapes removes any similarity with 35mm film cameras
